BIM Specialists

KSS adopted Revit in late 2004, and having experienced the benefits of doing so on active projects for over five years, we took the decision to strip our entire network, project filing structure and processes back to basics in 2009, and built them back up again, tailoring everything towards BIM delivery.

We now have a comprehensive BIM template, work procedures that ensures standards are met, and a healthy internal ecosystem whereby staff are actively encouraged to self-regulate and share tips. Not only do these process changes make it simpler to work on a daily basis, they help us maintain our quality assurance and ISO:9001 accreditation.

With projects at various stages of the BIM design process, our BIM maturity, integration and collaboration levels are continually improving. We now have completed buildings at Level 1, new build and refurbishment schemes on site at Levels 1 and 2, and some projects heading well towards Level 3 with early contractor involvement and numerous BEP (BIM Execution Plan) meetings.

We often find ourselves imparting our BIM knowledge to other members of the design team, and as we are not precious about sharing what we know, we eagerly await all other disciplines joining us in the overall transition. We offer consultancy services to help educate clients and decision makers, implement plans and train staff, and as a practice will have over 11 years' experience and a portfolio of finished projects across a number of sectors by the time the UK Government's BIM deadline comes into play in 2016.
