KSS are delighted to announce that the building contract works to the American Express
Community Stadium, the new home of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club have been
completed with handover to the Club.
There is still a lot of work to do within the stadium, with nearly £3m of fit-out including installation of furniture, fittings, TV screens, the big stadium screens within the bowl as well as the fit-out to the new club shop. External works to the
stadium perimeter areas continue to the coach park and landscaping. The Club will also be preparing to move into
their new offices within the stadium in the coming weeks.
Derek Chapman, BHAFC Construction Director said "We can't wait for the first game. It's a day many Albion fans
have dreamed of for years and I am looking forward to seeing the looks on the faces of our fans as they come into the
stadium for the first time this summer."
Andy Simons, Director at architects KSS said "It is fantastic to hit another key milestone in the history of this project. The feedback on the design has been fantastic to date and we haven't yet played a match. The anticipation is almost
palpable and now that the Albion are in the Championship the first game will be a double celebration".
The Grand Opening is scheduled for July 30 with the first friendly match being played against another KSS client,
Premiership Club Tottenham Hotspur FC.
After a long journey the finish line is tantalisingly close and the club is looking forward to starting the 2011/2012
season in the Championship in their new home.
