KSS were delighted to be present at the topping out ceremony of Hainault Forest High School on
Friday April 8, 2001.
On a beautiful spring day with superb views over London and in the presence of teachers, design team and local
councillors, the topping out ceremony took place followed by a tour of the site.
Work began on site in May 2010 on the new 2,400m2 school building which will house a new 300 seat dining hall
with main kitchen, design and technology Classrooms. A new external construction area for curriculum activities,
modern foreign language classrooms, art, textiles, graphics and CAD rooms, as well as food technology and a brand
new IT suite will be in the new scheme. The dining hall breaks out to an external covered terrace with views over the
adjacent playing fields. The project is set to complete summer 2011 ready to open its doors for the new school year.
Paul Young, Project Associate at KSS said: "It is a real pleasure to watch the new building for Hainault Forest High
School taking shape. At this stage we are getting a feel for the quality of spaces and the generous volumes being
created. It is a delight talking to the teachers and seeing their joy in the building knowing they can't wait to move in
and start teaching."
