James’ Cycle to MIPIM 2017 Diary – Part 3

One week to go and I’ll be on my way to Blois on the first long stage!

I reduced training this week to ensure I’m as fresh as can be – other than a bruised arm from a slow fall on a roundabout in the Chilterns and a slight IT band niggle – but generally feeling good and trying to avoid the various colds going around London!

Penultimate session in the gym this afternoon on the Wattbike and some weights with a gentle off-road cycle tomorrow in Pinewood Forrest, if there is such a thing…

Training has generally gone well and my left-right power balance is much better now than in December thanks to some Garmin vector pedals and the Wattbike training focussing on the left leg. Alcohol consumption has also curtailed, although a glass of red during the ride is a prerequisite for getting some good sleep.

I cannot wait for the start, but hoping for a quiet overnight ferry crossing!

The ride starts in London on the 9 March finishing by the Mediterranean in Cannes on the 14 March typically covering 200/300(+) km each day. I’m raising funds with Club Peloton for the charity Coram that has been supporting vulnerable children for over 275 years.
