Liverpool FC announce plans for new training facilities in Kirkby

Liverpool FC and Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council have announced joint plans for a proposed redevelopment of a new state-of-the-art training complex in Kirkby.

The Reds vision is to bring its First Team and Academy training operations together on one site. The facilities will include a new covered artificial pitch, a pool and hydrotherapy complex, gymnasium and specialist sports rehabilitation suites.

Liverpool FC Chief Operating Officer, Andy Hughes said, “Our proposed plans to bring the first team and young players together in one location is a really exciting proposition. The scheme includes modern facilities which will be used to support the development of our players and provides all-weather training options.”

A planning application will be submitted within the next few months, with work expected to begin early 2018.
