Midland House completes in Luton

The redevelopment of Midland House was completed earlier this year revitalising the 1980s building in a fresh and contemporary style.

Midland House is part of YMCA Bedfordshire, and opened its doors in the summer of 2016 providing up to 78 residents with a stable place to live and continue their journeys towards independence.

Our designs complement the character of the local conservation area adding an improved and renewed appearance to the whole building. The general form has been maintained with the exterior softened with the use of new materials in a robust and durable finish at the perimeter to King Street and Stuart Street. The first and second floor windows have been visually linked with a metal cladding detail to elongate and enhance their proportions transforming the appearance in a holistic design.

The converted Midland House has received extremely positive feedback with the refurbished building adding a positive and progressive dimension to the local area, both aesthetically and socially.
