New Training Centre for Leicester City FC

We are delighted to confirm that last week Charnwood Borough Council granted Detailed Planning Permission for our new Training Centre for Leicester City FC (LCFC).

The Training Centre will include 12 full-size football pitches, six part-size grass pitches, two goalkeeper areas, one attacking area, five warm-up and technical training areas, a centre to be used by the first team and academy with hydrotherapy, medical, rehabilitation and dining facilities. The training complex will also include education facilities, offices, 30 bedrooms for the players and management, and the UK’s first sports turf academy to train ground staff.

Our designs will deliver a best-in-class football training facility to accommodate LCFC’s academy and first team players combining best practice in elite sports training with a celebration of LCFC’s culture and ethos.

A LCFC representative said, “The club welcomes the approval of its proposals by the planning committee and the opportunity to deliver on its pledge of a world-class facility befitting Leicestershire’s traditions of sporting excellence. We hope to make this the start of a strong relationship for the collective benefit of our surrounding communities.”

KSS Chairman David Keirle said, “The project will set new standards in the design of elite training centres for professional football and will further enhance KSS’ reputation as one of the world’s leading designers of the these facilities”.
