Sammy Ofer Stadium shortlisted to host Super Cup

Our state-of-the-art Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa, Israel has been shortlisted as a potential host venue for the UEFA Super Cup 2019, the annual fixture contested by the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

The venue has been a huge success since opening in 2014, hosting regular Premier League matches for Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Haifa, UEFA Champions League matches and three matches for the Israeli national team in their successful UEFA European Championship 2016 qualifying campaign.

Nestling at the foot of the spectacular Mount Carmel, its distinctive gold shingle cladding has helped it become an outstanding landmark building for the City, and with just over 30,000 spectators sat nicely close to the action, the venue has a reputation for rising to the occasion and generating an exciting and intense match day atmosphere.

The UEFA Executive Committee will select the successful host venue in September 2017.
