Project Details

The Buckhurst 2 project was initiated by Sevenoaks District Council with the aim of using profits generated by a new build residential development to fund the construction of a multi-storey car park, thereby solving the lack of long stay car parking in Sevenoaks town centre.

The 10 four storey townhouses will overlook the historic Knole Park, and the modern designs combine a clever use of space with a common architectural language and materiality to provide high quality contemporary living for local professionals and families.

The adjacent 473 space car park also makes an architectural contribution to the townscape. A stone plinth adds solidity and reinforces the local vernacular, whilst vertical timber fin cladding provides both openness for natural ventilation and visual segregation. Energy-saving features include smart lighting and charging points for electric cars.
