three existing sites onto a single campus at Shooting Fields, Steyning.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Located within the setting of the South Downs National Park and adjacent to the Steyning Conservation Area, the redevelopment has been carefully designed to provide state-of-the-art educational and community facilities while responding sensitively to its unique landscape and historic context.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>A key design driver was the movement and supervision of students across the campus. Circulation routes, breakout spaces and sightlines have been carefully arranged to reduce congestion during lesson changes, allowing pupils to transition comfortably between classes while supporting effective passive supervision. The buildings have been positioned to the southern edge of the site, taking advantage of the natural topography and minimising their visual impact within the wider landscape.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Maintaining uninterrupted education throughout construction was a key priority. The scheme has been designed to deliver all essential facilities within a single phase, reducing reliance on temporary accommodation and allowing learning to continue with minimal disruption.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Security and safeguarding have also been central to the design approach. The new campus creates clear and secure boundaries using both the buildings and site levels to define different zones across the school. The design promotes collaboration, wellbeing and academic achievement, providing students with the tools and environment needed to reach their full potential.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>The teaching and sports facilities have been carefully arranged to respond to future residential development planned around the site. A new sports centre connects directly with the neighbouring sports hub, which includes local rugby, bowls and judo clubs, creating valuable opportunities for community engagement and shared use.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Generous glazing and thoughtfully planned teaching wings provide views across landscaped courtyards and open green spaces, enhancing student wellbeing while supporting passive supervision throughout the campus.
