London 2012 Olympic Stadium and Aquatic Centre

Project Details

We have been appointed to undertake two separate roles to support the LLDC in the transformation of the Olympic stadium.

Since 2008 we have provided architectural technical advice to the LDA and subsequently the LLDC on potential works and opportunities for transforming the Olympic Stadium post Games, including reviewing overlay requirements and implications for hosting major sporting and other international events at the stadium.

In addition, we are appointed as external technical reviewers for the post Games transformation, covering design compliances, technical submissions and tenders, together with monitoring construction on site during the transformation programme.

Working with Capita Symonds and on behalf of the London Development Agency, we also acted as technical advisors running the architectural competition for the 2012 Aquatic Centre. The competition was successfully concluded in March 2005, and the LDA were sufficiently pleased with the smooth running of the process that they extended our appointment to cover the ongoing initial technical interface with the selected team.
