The All England Lawn Tennis Club kiosks, which are vital hubs scattered around the grounds, were in much need of an upgrade. Instead of a straightforward design brief, the AELTC team took a more imaginative approach: they invited the KSS team to take part in an internal design competition. The challenge? To dream up bold new concepts for six kiosks that would not only serve efficiently but also capture the spirit of Wimbledon itself.
The competition was more than just a design exercise; it was a chance to reimagine how these kiosks could shape the experience of visitors. Each entry had to balance practicality with personality ensuring the kiosks were intuitive to use, fast in service and robust enough to endure the hustle and bustle of the Championships. At the same time, they needed to embody Wimbledon’s values and stand out as striking visual "beacons" in the sea of crowds.
The winning design concepts spanned three principal variations, adapted into six distinct types: information, retail, ice cream, confectionery, members’ ticket distribution and ball resale. Together, they formed a family of kiosks, each unique in purpose but unified in identity. embody Wimbledon's values and stand out as striking visual "beacons" in the sea of crowds.
We work across a diverse range of projects and take pride in consistently delivering through collaboration, learning from and supporting one another to achieve the best outcomes.
