The objective of this project was to repurpose a listed 1950s building on the Île du Ramier as their new Pro Team Training Centre.
Originally designed in the Corbusier style as a restaurant serving nearby university accommodation, the building had been decommissioned in the 1990s and left derelict until Toulouse FC took over the site in 2023. Due to its listed status, opportunities to modify the structure were strictly limited. However, we demonstrated the building’s potential to support its new purpose through detailed briefing and spatial analysis.
Once its functional suitability was confirmed, we collaborated closely with TFC to develop a design vision that reflects the club’s values through material selection, graphic design, colour and texture. The design reorganises the interior around the retained structure and staircase, introducing bespoke, high-quality spaces tailored to the club’s needs.
A limited palette of natural materials and a focus on subtle lighting deliver a sophisticated ambience throughout and always with respect for the quality of original building’s architectural beauty.
The new performance centre will span five levels and feature state-of-the-art facilities, including a hypoxic chamber, an advanced hydrotherapy and recovery complex and specialised spaces for training and rehabilitation.
